Venice Summer Institute 2023: The Economic Analysis of Critical Junctures
San Servolo, Venice, Italy
Scientific Organizers: Michael J. Callen, Davide Cantoni, David Y. Yang, and Noam Yuchtman
Critical junctures – such as revolutions and democratic transitions – allow researchers to observe contexts in which key fundamental drivers of institutional change are varying “in real time”. This conference brought together scholars from political economy, development economics, and economic history studying such junctures through experimental and field work.
The workshop was partially funded by the European Union (ERC). Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Research Council Executive Agency. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.
