CESifo-Delphi Conference on Fiscal Capacity: Origins, Consequences and Challenges

The 2023 CESifo-Delphi conference will take place on the island of Hydra in Greece. Topics related to historical determinants of fiscal capacity, alternative historical paths to centralization of fiscal institutions, policy reforms aiming at increasing fiscal capacity, and challenges to fiscal capacity (globalization, international tax competition, profit shifting, tax evasion), will be discussed.
