"Migration – Challenge or Opportunity?"

This year’s Summit will deal with the ramifications of the largest migration wave in the post-war period, which is putting a serious strain on the European community. It threatens to create a new fault line splitting the EU, in addition to the one that yawned during the euro crisis. The Summit will not only discuss the causes of the current refugee crisis, but most crucially how the currently challenging state of affairs can be turned into a win-win situation for both the newcomers and Europe’s ageing societies. How can a comprehensive integration of refugees and migrants be best accomplished? How can Europe contribute to solving the causes of the refugee crisis? How are the source countries being affected by the massive exodus, and how can such countries be effectively integrated into a dialogue?
