CESifo Research Network’s 2,000th Member

Cool milestone, cool number, cool new member: Adam Altmejd is the CESifo Research Network’s 2,000th member. A post-doc at Stockholm School of Economics, Adam not only has made a name for himself studying such major real-life decisions as college choice, but has now won the Distinguished CESifo Affiliate Award at the 2023 Economics of Education conference.

But his interests do not stop at things like perusing the inheritance of fields of study—the subject of his winning paper. They also stray onto musical-social pursuits. He is the founder and member of the board of Musethica Sweden, an international nonprofit that promotes a new approach to teaching classical music, integrating concerts into the education program of promising young artists and performing in kindergartens, prisons and immigrant housing.

The CESifo Research Network, with 11 Nobel laureates in its roster, is further enriched by welcoming Adam, a multi-talented scholar, as its 2,000th member.
