Venice Summer Institute 2015: New Developments in Global Sourcing

22 – 23 July 2015

Venice International University, San Servolo, Venice

Over the past two decades, technological advances have facilitated an increasing international fragmentation of production processes. The academic literature has proposed several explanatory paradigms for this new form of trade. Some of these follow the lines of comparative advantage, while others focus on channels having to do with fair-wage concerns, economies of scale, and efficient formation of production teams.
